This burnt cheesecake originated in the Basque region of Spain, and that's where it dervies its name from. Without a crust at the bottom, the Basque cheesecake has quite the caramely flavour due to its 'burnt' surface which is complimented by the granularly texture of the cream cheese inside. The Basque Cheesecake Mess has the exact same taste as the non messier version. This one has dollops of the Basque Cheecake 'jared' together.
